During my first year I have experienced, learnt, experimented, and improved upon a variety of drawing skills including observational drawing, perspective drawing, floor plans, elevations, asymmetric drawing etc. Throughout the year I have attended a number of sessions that focused on teaching different drawing skills to either help learn something new or to help improve upon a skill I had already obtained even further. I have also been given the opportunity to put these skills into practice throughout projects during this first year and will get to continue practicing throughout projects within my second and third year, as well as within my independent time to ensure I can improve my drawing skills as much as possible as these are very useful skills to have and that will be needed for studying Interior Design and for eventually working within the industry. So far I have found observational drawing the easiest as it was a skill I had acquired in high school and since then throughout college, University and my own personal time I have improved upon. Although, floor plans, elevations, and asymmetric drawing were not something I had really experimented with before I still found these rather easy to understand and improve upon and still hope to improve upon further as these are the types of drawings I will be creating the most to demonstrate the scale and layout of my designs. However, one aspect of drawing I haven't particularly experimented with before is perspective drawing. During learning about perspective drawing and how it is done I know it will be an important skill to learn about further and to improve my skills upon as it is an excellent way to show your designs in a three dimensional and realistic way and in my opinion that can make it the best way to convey and showcase your own designs to others. Therefore, I would like to improve upon this skill as so far I feel it is not my strong suit so I intend to practice and improve upon this skill within my own personal time, and once my basic perspective drawing skills has improved I would then like to continue improving further by practicing two-point perspective drawing.

During the summer break before my third and final year I have decided to improve upon my drawing skills, particularly perspective drawing as this is a skill I still feel I need to greatly improve and become to understand better as it will benefit both my studies and careers. The main reason I believe my perspective drawing skills is lacking is because this is something I have never really done before but I do believe it is something I need to learn. I took upon myself to take out a variety of helpful books from the library that are designed to help me learn the different aspects of perspective drawing, along with the different types of perspective drawings. I still think their is room for improvement but I am very pleased with how far I have come and how much my skills have improved.
