3D Design Procedures and Practices

Take a look at one of my first year projects. This project focused on redesigning an art gallery space for a new exhibition which was to feature the Pilkington Pots Collection. For my design I took inspiration from the vibrant colours and patterns on the pots to create an interesting feature on the walls. However, I wanted to create a contrasting design. Therefore, to compliment the pots I created sleek, white, minimalist podiums and then designed hanging pods made of chains and glass.

3D Design Principles

Take a look at one of my first year projects. This project focused on designing a public interactive installation that imposed positive and negative affects on the public. I focused on the feelings of fear and excitement by creating a obstacle course type installation that played on these emotions.

Design and Materials

Take a look at one of my first year projects. This project focused on bringing people back to nature, specifically 'The Hive' which is located in Salford. I focused on how to increase are connection to nature through design and with it being in a woodland area I also focused on the importance of the materials being used by making sure they were both sustainable and suitable for the environment they would be located in.

User Centred Design

Take a look at one of my first year projects. This project focused on designing a house from scratch for a set of perspective 'clients' whilst taking inspiration from another interior designer. I chose to look into the work of Le Corbusier to inform the layout and style of the house I designed. This project was more focused on the general arrangement plan than it was on the fine details of the design. This was done to develop and improve are floor plan drawing skills.

Exploring Creative Contexts

Take a look at one of my first year projects. This project was split into two sections, an individual project and a group project. For the individual project I wrote an essay exploring 'How interior design is influenced by wider culture, commercial and other contexts?'. For the group project I focused on the future of interior design.
