Building Analysis Interior Architecture
The Building Analysis Interior Architecture module was split into three sections, a group research project looking Ordsall Hall, Salford which fead into the individual section which was to design either an event, installation or exhibition to be held at Ordsall Hall. The other section was to analyse the fire escapes in my University building, New Adelphi When conducting this research I was mainly looking into fire escape issues and regulations to acquire a better understanding of fire safety regulations. Then information was then translated into creating a fire escape poster for the Ground Floor and Fifth Floor of the New Adelphi building. For my posters I decided to use the laser cutting machine and create two 3D posters. i kept the design simple and easy to follow by colour coding where the fire exits and refuge points are on each floor.

The second section of this project was to design either an event, installation or exhibition to be held within the grounds of Ordsall Hall. For my event I decided to focus on the heritage of the Hall and create a Tudor/Medieval era fun fair event. For my event I wanted to take advantage of as much of the Hall as I could which is why I decided to include themed activities both inside and out. All the activities were all games/activities that would have been played in the Tudor/Medieval era, such as, archery, chess, card games etc. As part of my brief I had to keep in mind the concept of bringing more people to Ordsall Hall which is why I decided upon a community/family fun fair as this would be an effective way to bring a variety of different people from different age groups to the Hall.

For the third and final section of this project myself and my group created a large, in-depth report on the building and grounds of Ordsall Hall. For this task the group had to look into different aspects of the Hall such as; historical narrative, the structural grid, architectural characteristics, events and more. When doing this project each group member was given two areas to research. I was tasked with looking into the historical narrative and the orientation and access of Ordsall Hall.
