Negotiated Major Project
My Negotiated Major Project is my final project for my third year of University. This project is leading on for both my findings and subject matter of my dissertation: How the design industry has impacted the environment. As well as, leading on from my Advanced Research Strategies module which was focused on gathering information to judge whether or not my proposed final design would be feasible. Therefore, my Negotiated Major Project was my chance to take the issues I had identify and addressed in my dissertation and the proposed design solution I had put forward in my Feasibility Report and start the actual design process.
Therefore, my final design concept for my Negotiated Major Project is the COTTON. Hotel which is a sustainable boutique hotel. The ethos of the COTTON. Hotel is to be sustainable and promote a clean and eco-friendly lifestyle, as well as guest wellness. This has been achieved through a carefully considered design which consists of a mix of industrial and biophilic design elements. My concept has evolved and developed from many sources of inspiration, specifically curves within nature which has been the basis for a few different design elements. The concept for this design initially stems from my own personal beliefs that preserving our future starts with preserving the future of our planet. Therefore, I wanted to effectively showcase this belief by embedding it into my final design.
